Butter Swim Biscuits

A simple and buttery biscuit recipe that bakes up golden and tender, with a crispy, buttery bottom—perfect for breakfast or any comforting meal.

 

Ingredients

  • All-Purpose Flour: 2½ cups

  • Baking Powder: 4 teaspoons

  • Granulated Sugar: 1 tablespoon

  • Salt: 2 teaspoons

  • Buttermilk: 2 cups

  • Unsalted Butter: ½ cup, melted

 

Directions

  1. Set your oven to 450°F (230°C).

  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt.

  3. Stir in buttermilk until just combined. Avoid overmixing.

  4. Pour melted butter into an 8x8-inch baking dish.

  5. Place the dough on top of the butter and spread it evenly to the edges.

  6. Before baking, cut the dough into 9 squares.

  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown on top.

  8. Let the biscuits absorb the butter before serving.
