Pound Cake French Toast

Who says you can have pound cake for breakfast or breakfast for dinner! No us or Christine (@Octoberdragonfly). She whipped up this dish for Pound Cake French Toast that was kid approved and easily adapted for keto and gluten free folks.

Pound Cake French Toast

Ingredients:

  • Three eggs

  • 1/2 cup half & half

  •  1 tablespoon vanilla extract 

  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract 

  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon  powder 

  • 1 large loaf of pound-cake cut into 1 inch slices 

  • 1/2 stick butter

Preparation:

  1. In a bowl, whisk, the eggs, half-and-half, vanilla, almond, and cinnamon together 

  2. Heat a skillet on medium heat 

  3. To melt 1 tablespoon of butter. dip, one slice of poundcake at a time into your whisked mixture and place it in the skillet 2-3 at a time cook until brown then flip over and brown the other side . 

  4. Top however you like and enjoy I like to use fresh berries, whip cream, and maple syrup.
