Simple Strawberry Compote

A quick, sweet strawberry topping that cooks down into a soft, glossy sauce. Perfect for pancakes, desserts, or anything that needs a fresh fruity finish.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup strawberries, hulled and sliced

  • 2 to 3 tbsp sugar

  • 1 to 2 tsp lemon juice

 

Directions

  1. Add strawberries, sugar, and lemon juice to a small saucepan.

  2. Cook over medium low heat, stirring occasionally as the strawberries release their juices.

  3. Let simmer 5 to 10 minutes until softened and slightly thickened.

  4. Leave chunky or lightly mash for a smoother texture.

  5. Remove from heat, cool slightly, and serve.

  6. Serving size about 1 cup
