Susie’s Lip Smacking Key Lime Pie

A creamy, tangy Key lime pie with a buttery graham cracker crust, fresh lime zest, and a smooth sweetened condensed milk filling.

Ingredients

  • 1 sleeve graham crackers, finely crushed

  • 2 Tbsp granulated sugar

  • 6 Tbsp butter, melted

  • Zest of 1 lime, optional

  • 2 14 oz cans sweetened condensed milk

  • ½ cup full fat sour cream

  • 1 cup Key lime juice, bottled or freshly squeezed

  • Zest of 2 regular limes or 4 Key limes

 

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F.

  2. Combine the graham cracker crumbs, sugar, melted butter, and lime zest. Press firmly into the bottom and up the sides of an 8 to 9½ inch pie dish.

  3. Whisk together the sweetened condensed milk, sour cream, Key lime juice, and lime zest until smooth.

  4. Pour the filling into the prepared crust and bake for 10 minutes, just until the edges are set while the center remains soft.

  5. Remove from the oven and cool at room temperature for about 1 hour.

  6. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or until completely chilled and set.

  7. Slice and serve chilled. Top with fresh whipped cream and lime slices if desired.
