Grub Match is open to all FoodTokTV Hosts, which means yes—all of you. Every Pro Home Chef, from the humble perfectionist to the chaotic kitchen wizard, starts with an even shot.But let’s be real: we can’t have everyone in the finale, or we’d be filming until next year. So, it’s time to trim the fat.
We’re kicking things off with Elimination Challenges—quick, simple tests of your basic culinary skills. Think of them as the Hunger Games, but with whisks and a lot more salt.
Here’s the twist: we’re giving you all the challenges a week early. Why? Because we believe in fairness, personal growth, and giving you just enough rope to perfectly tie your own culinary noose. Practice. Gloat. Panic quietly. Whatever your vibe is, go for it.
These tasks are 10 minutes or less—no time for overthinking, TikTok dances, or calling your mom for help. One minute you're flipping the perfect omelet; the next, you're watching someone else whisk their way to glory.
Only two chefs will make it to the final battle. Will it be you? Or will your hollandaise break under pressure? Either way, we’ll be watching. Closely. With scorecards. And snacks.
Technique Challenges
- French Omelet Showdown: Smooth, tender, no browning—classic technique, executed perfectly.
- Perfect Fried Egg: Sunny-side up, no browning, yolk still runny. Precision required.
- Whip to Stiff Peaks: Hand-whipped egg whites—no mixers allowed. First to peaks, no over-whipping.
- Cook a Medium-Rare Steak: Pink center, seared crust. Over or under? You're out.
- Perfect Boiled Egg: Boil and peel the ultimate 7-minute jammy egg.
- Caramelize Sugar: Dry caramel to amber without burning—delicate timing.

After the elimination, there will be an hour to go shopping at a local store for any special ingredients before the final event and yes - we will drive you.
No secret ingredient. Just a traditional Meal with your special twist. We will tell you what the meal is and provide your ingredients then judge you on taste, technique and plating.
