Yield: 4-6 servings
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cook Time: 25 minutes
Special Equipment: Cookie Sheet
Ingredients
6 slices bacon cooked and chopped
1½ pounds ground beef
1 small onion chopped
½ cup diced dill pickles or dill pickle relish
2 tablespoons ketchup
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
1 can refrigerated pizza dough
6 slices American cheese
8 ounces cheddar cheese shredded
1 large egg beaten
1 tablespoon sesame seeds
Burger sauce for topping optional
Directions
Preheat oven to 375°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a skillet, cook the ground beef and onion over medium heat until browned, then drain excess grease. Stir in bacon, pickles, ketchup, Dijon mustard, and Worcestershire sauce. Remove from heat.
Roll or stretch the pizza dough into a rectangle and place it on the prepared baking sheet.
Spoon the meat mixture down the center of the dough, leaving space on both sides. Lay the American cheese slices over the meat, then sprinkle with shredded cheddar.
Using a knife or pizza cutter, cut 1 inch strips down both sides of the dough. Fold the strips over the filling in a criss cross pattern, alternating sides to seal the center.
Brush the dough with the beaten egg and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Add a little extra shredded cheese on top if desired.
Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the dough is golden brown and the filling is hot and bubbly. Let rest a few minutes before slicing
