Homemade Beefaroni
This creamy, comforting one-pot beefaroni is the ultimate weeknight dinner. It’s loaded with flavor, comes together in under an hour, and tastes way better than anything from a can
Yields: 4-6 servings
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 30 minutes
Special Equipment: large pan
Ingredients
1 lb ground beef
1 small onion, diced
4–5 garlic cloves, minced
1 tbsp tomato paste
24 oz jar of spaghetti sauce
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp Italian seasoning
1 tsp sugar
Salt and pepper to taste
8 oz ziti pasta or elbow macaroni
2.5 cups beef broth (plus more if needed)
1/2 cup heavy cream
Directions
In a large pot or deep skillet, brown the ground beef with the diced onion and minced garlic over medium heat. Drain excess grease.
Stir in the tomato paste and cook for 1–2 minutes to deepen the flavor. Add the spaghetti sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning, sugar, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine.
Add the uncooked ziti pasta and beef broth. Stir well and make sure the pasta is mostly covered (add a little more broth if needed). Bring the mixture to a boil, then cover and reduce heat to a simmer. Cook for 12–15 minutes or until the pasta is tender, stirring occasionally.
Stir in the heavy cream and let it simmer uncovered on low for another 10–15 minutes, until the sauce thickens.
Taste and adjust seasoning as needed. Serve hot and enjoy!
