Yield: 3-4 servings
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 5-6 minutes
Special Equipment: skillet
Ingredients
6 sheets rice paper
3 Tbsp soy sauce
1 Tbsp olive oil
1 Tbsp maple syrup
1 tsp sriracha
1 tsp smoked paprika
1 tsp garlic powder
Freshly cracked black pepper, to taste
½ tsp liquid smoke, optional
1 to 2 Tbsp water
Oil, for frying
Directions
In a bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, olive oil, maple syrup, sriracha, smoked paprika, garlic powder, black pepper, and optional liquid smoke. Add 1 to 2 tablespoons water to thin the marinade.
Quickly dip 2 sheets of rice paper in water, stack them together, and let soften for 30 seconds. Dip into the marinade until fully coated, then cut into strips about 1 to 1½ inches wide. Repeat with the remaining rice paper.
Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a skillet over medium heat. Fry the strips in batches for 2 to 3 minutes per side until browned and crispy. Remove from the skillet and serve.
