Chicken Tikka Kebab

Juicy, flavorful, and perfectly spiced, these Chicken Tikka Kebabs are a classic Indian-inspired dish that can be made in the oven, air fryer, stovetop, or grill. Marinated in yogurt and bold spices, they’re perfect served with naan, rice, or fresh salad.

Yields: 4-6 servings
Prep Time: 20 minutes plus marinating
Cook Time: 12-15 minutes
Special Equipment: air fryer, stovetop pan, or grill. Tongs

 

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs chicken breast, cut into medium-sized cubes

  • chopped cilantro for garnish optional

  • Wooden skewers (pre-soaked)

  • 3 tbsp plain yogurt

  • ¼ tsp turmeric powder

  • 2 tsp garam masala

  • 1 tsp ground cumin

  • 1 tsp coriander powder

  • 1 tsp dried fenugreek leaves or substitute with parsley if needed

  • ½ tsp red chili powder Indian or cayenne adjust to heat preference

  • 1 tbsp paprika

  • ½ tsp salt

  • 1½ tbsp oil

  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

 

Directions

  1. Prepare Marinade: In a large bowl, mix all marinade ingredients until smooth.

  2. Marinate Chicken: Add chicken cubes and coat well. Cover and marinate for at least 30 minutes, or overnight for deeper flavor.

  3. Soak Skewers: While marinating, soak wooden skewers in hot water for at least 20 minutes to prevent burning.

  4. Assemble Skewers: Thread the marinated chicken onto the soaked skewers.

  5. Cook Chicken: Choose one of the following methods: Air Fryer or Oven: Cook at 390°F (200°C) for 12–15 minutes, or until internal temp reaches 160°F. Grill or Stovetop: Cook over medium-high heat, rotating until evenly charred and cooked through.

  6. Serve: Garnish with chopped cilantro if desired. Serve with naan, rice, or a fresh salad.
