Churrasco Ecuatoriano

A traditional Ecuadorian meal featuring seasoned beef topped with a fried egg and served with rice, french fries, fried ripe bananas, fresh vegetables, avocado, and Creole pepper.

Special Equipment: Large Skillet

 

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs beef fillets or steaks

  • 8 to 12 garlic cloves, crushed

  • 1 Tbsp ground cumin

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

  • Cooked rice

  • Fried eggs

  • French fries

  • Fried ripe bananas

  • Onion and tomato tanning

  • Lettuce

  • Avocado, sliced

  • Creole pepper, to taste

 

Directions

  1. Mix the crushed garlic, cumin, salt, and pepper. Rub the seasoning mixture over the beef and let rest for 2 hours.

  2. Cook the beef on a grill, griddle, or in a frying pan for a few minutes per side until cooked to your desired doneness.

  3. Serve each steak topped with a fried egg and accompanied by rice, french fries, fried ripe bananas, onion and tomato tanning, lettuce, avocado slices, and Creole pepper.
