Crab Bake on Sourdough Crostini

That hot creamy crab casserole you know from Chinese buffets baked on sourdough until rich savory and bubbling

Ingredients

  • 12 oz imitation crab flake style finely chopped or shredded

  • 3/4 cup mayonnaise

  • 6 oz cream cheese softened

  • 1 large egg lightly beaten

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 1/2 tsp onion powder

  • 1/2 tsp white pepper or black pepper

  • 1 tsp sugar

  • 1 tsp MSG

  • 1 tsp lemon juice

  • 2 tbsp green onions finely sliced

  • 1 to 2 tbsp very finely diced celery optional

  • Thick slices sourdough bread

 

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F and line a baking sheet.

  2. In a bowl mix mayonnaise cream cheese egg garlic powder onion powder pepper sugar MSG and lemon juice until smooth.

  3. Fold in crab green onions and celery if using.

  4. Place sourdough slices on the baking sheet.

  5. Spread a thick even layer of the crab mixture onto each slice.

  6. Bake 15 to 18 minutes until hot set and lightly golden on top.
