Down Home with The Neely’s BBQ Sauce

Cook Time: 1 hour

 

Ingredients

  • 2 cups ketchup

  • 1 cup water

  • 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar

  • 5 tablespoons light brown sugar

  • 5 tablespoons granulated sugar

  • 1/2 tablespoon fresh ground black pepper

  • 1/2 tablespoon onion powder

  • 1/2 tablespoon ground mustard

  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

 

Directions

  1. Combine all ingredients in a large pot and bring to a boil over high heat, stirring frequently to prevent sticking.

  2. Once boiling, reduce heat to low and simmer uncovered for about an hour, stirring occasionally to meld the flavors.

  3. Sauce will thicken as it cools.
