Pork Chops with Creamy Bacon Garlic Gravy

Juicy pork chops smothered in a rich, creamy bacon and garlic gravy made with cream cheese, chicken broth, and savory seasonings. The addition of diced onion brings extra flavor and depth to the sauce

Yields: 4 servings
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 25 minutes
Special Equipment: Frying pan

Ingredients

  • 4 boneless pork chops

  • 4 slices bacon

  • 3 garlic cloves, minced

  • ½ onion, diced

  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened to room temperature

  • 1 ½ cups chicken broth

  • Seasonings of choice salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, etc.

Directions

  1. Season the Pork Chops: Season both sides of the pork chops with your preferred seasonings. Set aside.

  2. Cook the Bacon: In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon until crispy. Remove bacon and set aside, leaving the bacon grease in the pan.

  3. Sear the Pork Chops: Place the seasoned pork chops into the skillet and sear until golden brown and cooked through (internal temp 145°F). Remove and set aside.

  4. Sauté Onion and Garlic: Lower heat. Add diced onion to the skillet and cook until softened. Stir in garlic and cook gently until fragrant (do not burn).

  5. Deglaze the Pan: Pour in the chicken broth, scraping up the browned bits from the bottom of the pan.

  6. Make the Creamy Sauce: Whisk in the cream cheese until melted and fully combined, forming a smooth gravy.

  7. Adjust Seasoning & Thickness: Taste and adjust seasonings. If the gravy is too thick, add more broth. If too thin, let it simmer until reduced to desired consistency.

  8. Combine & Serve: Return pork chops to the skillet, spoon the sauce over them, and simmer for a few minutes to heat through. Crumble the bacon on top before serving.
