Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 10 minutes
Special Equipment: skillet

Ingredients

  • 1 lbs boneless skinless chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces

  • 1 tsp salt

  • ½ tsp black pepper

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 1 tbsp cornstarch

  • 2 tbsp oil for pan frying

  • 4 tbsp butter

  • 5 garlic cloves, minced

  • ⅓ cup brown sugar

  • ¼ cup soy sauce

  • 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar

  • ¼ tsp red pepper flakes

Directions

  1. Season the chicken with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Toss with cornstarch until evenly coated.

  2. In a large skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat. Add chicken in a single layer and cook until browned and cooked through, about 6–8 minutes. Remove from pan and set aside.

  3. In the same skillet, melt the butter. Add minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 30 seconds.

  4. Add brown sugar, soy sauce, vinegar, and red pepper flakes. Stir and let the mixture simmer for 2–3 minutes until slightly thickened.

  5. Return chicken to the pan and toss to coat in the sticky garlic butter glaze. Let simmer for another 1–2 minutes.

  6. Serve over rice or mashed potatoes and garnish with green onions or sesame seeds.
