Stuffed Onion Dumplings

Stuffed Onion Dumplings are a comforting, savory dish featuring tender dumplings filled with a flavorful mixture of caramelized onions, herbs, and seasoned meat or vegetables. Each bite delivers a rich balance of savory filling and delicate dough, making these dumplings a satisfying appetizer or hearty main dish often served with a tangy dipping sauce or light broth.

Ingredients

  • 2 white onions, whole cut with a slit and blanched

  • 1 pound ground turkey or ground beef

  • 1 tbsp avocado oil

  • ½ bunch green onion, chopped

  • 2 medium carrots, diced

  • 1 cup mushrooms, diced

  • 2 tbsp coconut amino

  • 2 tbsp sriracha

  • 1 tbsp sweetener

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 1 tsp onion powder

  • ½ tsp ginger powder

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • 2 eggs

    Toppings:

  • Green onion

  • Soy sauce or tamari

  • Chili oil

  • Furikake

  • Sesame seeds

 

Directions

  1. Add your onions to boiling water for 2-3 minutes and set aside on a plate.

  2. Add your ground turkey or beef to a pan over medium-high heat with your avocado oil.

  3. Add your green onion, carrots, mushrooms and sauté.

  4. Add your seasonings, soy sauce, sriracha, and honey. Sauté and set aside.

  5. Add your mixture to the onion slices, roll, and pan fry until they are crispy to your liking! Add soy sauce and cook until your onions are grilled.

  6. Top with green onion, chili oil, furikake, and sesame seeds.
