Orange Miso Ginger Salmon
Silky orange glaze simmered with fresh ginger and mellow white miso, brushed over tender salmon and roasted until just flaky. Bright, savory, and fast enough for a weeknight, but elegant enough for company.
Yield: 4 servings
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 10 minutes
Special Equipment: small sauce pan and immersion blender
Ingredients
2–4 salmon fillets, skin on
2–3 oranges, juiced (about ⅓ cup)
1–2 tsp freshly grated ginger, to taste
1 heaping tbsp white or yellow miso
Optional: splash of water if sauce thickens too much
Directions
Add the orange juice and freshly grated ginger to a small saucepan. Simmer over medium heat for 5 to 7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until slightly reduced and thickened.
Lower the heat and whisk in the miso until completely smooth. Blend with an immersion blender (or transfer to a blender) until silky. If it gets too thick, add a small splash of water.
Place the salmon fillets skin-side down on a lined baking sheet. Spoon the glaze generously over the top of each piece.
Bake at 400°F for 5 to 6 minutes (7 to 9 minutes for thicker fillets), just until the salmon is opaque with a slightly translucent center.
Remove from the oven and serve immediately.
